Day One of the Summer School!
Sunday 1st July - Day One!
Hello! Welcome to the OISS 2018 Blog! We'll be posting daily updates of what's happening in Oxford - sharing some of the magic of the summer school with you.
It's day one here and we have had a brilliant day welcoming all of our students to Oxford for the very first day of our 2018 summer schools.
The UK is in the middle of a heatwave at the moment (that means about 25C in the UK - we know that doesn't really count as a heatwave anywhere else in the world...) so we've been touring parents and students around the city of Oxford in blazing sunshine.
After getting to know each other and unpacking, we sat down to a delicious dinner of chicken, salmon, potatoes and a range of salads; and delicious ice-cream from local Oxford cafe, G&Ds.
After dinner, Co-ordinators Oliver, Bronte and Guillermo led a trip to University Parks, a beautiful green space just 1 minute's walk from our front door. We've been playing ice-breaker games, learning each others' names, and playing Rounders (an English version of baseball!) as the sun sets across the park.
We're so pleased to meet such a nice group of young people - and even to welcome back some familiar faces! We'll be posting daily updates of all of our activities here throughout the summer school - if you need to contact any of the staff team, you can do so here on 0044 7470 731 887
